Twelve-year-old David's mother dies at the start of WWII and he's completely grief-stricken. His father soon remarries and she becomes pregnant, making life even harder for young David. David enters another world filled with beasts and monsters and he must earn his way out by proving he has bravery, loyalty and honor.
